Longtime fans of Final Fantasy were thrilled to see the father of the franchise dive into Square Enix’s MMORPG, especially because Final Fantasy 14 is known for giving homage to past Final Fantasy games. Sakaguchi, who worked for Square before it became Square Enix, was one of the main figures behind every Final Fantasy game until he left the company in 2003, from the 1987 original all the way through Final Fantasy 10-2, including spinoff titles like Final Fantasy Tactics. On Halloween, just over a month later, Sakaguchi has blazed a path through the main scenario of Final Fantasy 14 and its three expansion packs, catching up just in time for Endwalker’s release in a few weeks.
At the end of September, Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series, began his adventures in Final Fantasy 14.
